This workshop has been designed for:

  • D.O.S.s (Directors of Studies),
  • S.C.s (School Coordinators),
  • E.T.s (English Teachers).,

and will be held by MEd. Claudia Ursi, Master in Educational Technology & ELT, Manchester University, UK.

In this workshop we will work on:

  • Theoretical background,
  • Tools & tasks,
  • Design, implementation and assessment.

In the first week, we will:

  • get to know each other,
  • learn our way around the campus,
  • analyse the different steps involved in the writing process,
  • discuss the importance of writing for an audience and writing with a purpose,
  • explore computer-based writing tools in collaborative writing: word processors and desktop publishers and
  • analyse different features/devices these tools offer and their implications in the writing process.

In the second week, we will:

  • try out some Internet-based tools,
  • discuss when to use them and how to make provisions and
  • explore some tools for distance collaborative online writing.

In the third week, we will:

  • design one task collaboratively, following the previous criteria and using different tools/resources, in our “wiki” room on our virtual campus,
  • try it out in a real setting (if possible) and
  • carry out a self/peer evaluation of the task.

We will meet on our Virtual Campus through synchronic and asynchronic communication, for 3 weeks. There will be a special V-room for you to socialize, get to know each other and find someone with whom to plan online collaborative writing with your students, regardless of distance!

Certificates will be issued to those participants who have taken part in 80% of the activities on the campus and have designed tasks following a certain criteria.

The cost of the workshop is AR$ 490 but there is a 5% discount per province away from Buenos Aires City.
